Sriman 108 Sant Baba Nikka Singh Ji ‘Virakat’

He was a great scholar & an ascetic, who was deeply devoted to the service & love for mankind. He was a holy soul who after realizing the highest in spiritual growth through meditation had merged Himself completely with God. He rose above physical existence & always resided in spiritual bliss. The aim of Sant Baba Nikka Singh Ji’s life was to guide the misguided people of the world on the right path. Inspired by His life of divine virtues, innumerable people became enlightened. Darkness of ignorance was dispelled from their lives & they were able to experience everlasting happiness. The Brahmgyani, tat-veta Sant Nikka Singh Ji ‘Virakat’ had a direct realization of Brahm (God).

He travelled widely in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar, preached Gurbani & selfless service to humanity. His many places of visit in Punjab have been turned into Kutia’s where His ‘Barsi’ is celebrated every year by the devotees with immeasurable love & devotion.

‘Nirmal Kutia’ at Karnal (Haryana) is the sacred place of His meditation. It is flocked by devotees day & night & enriches one with spiritual ecstasy. He designed the Nanak Darbar here, with four doors of the inner sanctum, which are open to all religions. Like, Nirmal Ashram in Rishikesh, here also, the recitation of ‘Akhand Paths’ of ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’ goes on throughout the year & lodging facility is also available. The ‘Langar’ goes on 24 hours, all the year round.

Sant Baba Nikka Singh Ji ‘Virakat’ is an epitome of love & kindness. Though living in this mortal world, He was always unattached to it like a lotus that remains detached in water. For His unfathomable virtues & divine aura, He emerged as a miraculous personality in the Nirmal Panth’s sub community, Sampradaya Thakuran.

All the activities of the Ashram were undertaken under His guidance & permission (under the tenure of Mahant Atma Singh Ji & Mahant Narain Singh Ji). Mahant Ram Singh Ji and Sant Jodh Singh Ji are his two staunch disciples. Pujya ‘Virakat’ Maharaj Ji blessed Baba Ram Singh Ji with the title of ‘Sant’ in May 1981 and of ‘Mahant’ of Nirmal Ashram, Rishikesh in November 1982. Baba Jodh Singh Ji was also bestowed upon the title of ‘Sant’ on April 3, 1983. Since then, they both have been looking after the affairs of the Ashram and its progress in the field of humanity and selfless service.  Pujya ‘Virakat’ Maharaj Ji left His mortal frame at ‘Nirmal Kutia’, Goraya (Punjab) on 22nd July 1983.

The subtle vibrations of a Brahm Giani stays forever. It is only because of the infinite and divine blessings of Dhan Dhan 108 Brahmleen, Tatveta Sant Nikka Singh Ji ‘Virakat’, that Nirmal Ashram today is flourishing and has made unprecedented progress in the field of selfless service to humanity through its charitable institutions.
